Practice Nurse Retirement

Sadly, our lovely nurse Su Kaye retired on 13th August, but we have two equally lovely nurses to replace her.

Su will continue to work with us for a few months yet until both Amanda and Cally have settled in. Amanda and Cally both worked at Pilgrim Hospital, Amanda on the Respiratory Ward and Cally on Oncology (Chemotherapy).

Su would like to thank all the patients who so kindly gave cards and gifts on her retirement.

Reception Team

Carers Champion Award

We have been formally recognised by Lincolnshire County Council for our support for unpaid carers.

Sue and Pauline have worked with Every-One (the Lincolnshire-based organisation) really hard over the past 6-8 months to gain the accreditation, and we are very proud of them both and pleased to have been given this award. Any advice or support please ask for Sue or Pauline.

Bereavement Counsellor

Karen Allen has been appointed as the Surgery Bereavement Advisor. Any support you need, any help for accessing information or just a chat, please contact the surgery and ask for Karen.

News from the Dispensary

Weekly Nomad Boxes

As Winter is approaching and you feel you would like a little help with ordering/collecting your medication, Jackie is able to help by dispensing your tablets into a weekly box and we can also deliver this to your home.

Please contact the surgery and ask to speak with Jackie for more details.

Christmas Delivery

For patients established on the Nomad rota, we will notify you prior to your Christmas delivery (as per last year) and we will issue you with 4 weekly boxes to cover the Christmas period.

Repeat Prescriptions - Help to keep your practice dispensary

You may have received a leaflet in the post inviting you to get your repeat prescriptions from an alternative pharmacy.

  • They cannot order your medication on your behalf!
  • This is an internet pharmacy based on an industrial estate

This is NOTHING to do with Sutterton Surgery!

Flu Clinics

Important news regarding this year's Flu Vaccination

Dear patient,

Please continue to support your practice by attending the flu clinics as shown below:

NHS England recommends vaccination from October onwards.

Please do not panic to have your Flu vaccine, as we continue to vaccinate for Influenza until the end of March 2019.

There are slight changes to the Flu Vaccination this season.

NHS England recommends that we use a new vaccine (Fluad Seqirus) for all patients 65 years and over and to continue to use our usual vaccine for all 'at risk' groups including pregnant ladies aged 18-65 years.

The delivery schedule for the new vaccine (Fluad Seqirus) is to be staggered over three months which unfortunately disrupts our planned flu clinics. The delivery schedule is to be the same nationwide and all practices are to receive 40% stock in September, 20% in October and the final 40% in mid-November. This is a major disruption as the majority of our patients will need the new Fluad Sequirus vaccine.

Please do not worry!

We have ordered enough vaccine to cover all our patients, but as this is a national delivery programme, all other pharmacies and GP practices are in the same position and will only have allotted supplies.

We will be holding TWO clinics at Sutterton Village Hall as in previous years and we look forward to seeing you there again for a coffee and a slice of cake.
